Following the historic 2026 lunar flyby, NASA has updated its strategy. Instead of a direct surface landing, the 2027 Artemis III mission will act as an Earth-orbit rendezvous rehearsal using commercial landers. Humanity’s next crewed moon landing is now officially slated for the early 2028 Artemis IV mission at the lunar South Pole.
